International Day of Peace

Set your mind on peace and love…through the wars and hunger. I have found not watching TV helps a great deal. I use to be a TV addict. What you feed inside of you is what will thrive and carry out into the world. Thoughts travel like information travels through the interweb.

Teach Peace Now

peace doveSeptember 21st is the International Day of Peace. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, this day is supposed to be a day of non-violence and cease-fire. Combatants everywhere in the world are asked to put down their weapons.

The first Peace Day was celebrated in September 1982. That’s thirty-three years ago. A rough estimate of battle-related deaths since then is about six hundred million people. That is not counting civilian deaths from disease, starvation, and displacement.. See the Polynational War Memorial for more detailed statistics.

Celebrating peace one day a year does not seem to have had much effect on stopping war. Normally, at this point we would be listing things we can do individually to make the world more peaceful. We have posted lists like these many time over the last ten years since Teach Peace Now’s inception. We have celebrated school children’s walls and quilts…

Inner Peace to World Peace

Uploaded on Sep 19, 2015

UPLIFT presents ‘Inner Peace to World Peace’.

Our thoughts create our reality. If we are constantly thinking negative thoughts about our life, other people or our country that’s what we are sending out to the universe. If we think positive good thoughts then this can change the reality of our whole planet…peace!

Dr. Emoto proved scientifically that our words can change the molecular structure of water. He observed beautiful crystals after giving good words, playing good music, and showing, playing, or offering pure prayer to water. On the other hand, he observed disfigured crystals in the opposite situation.  —

11 Days of Global Unity Summit…Free Online Event

Summer of Peace

The Summer of Peace has reached the higher octaves of consciousness, with the conclusion of The Subtle Activism Summit, yesterday — following sessions on the science behind prayer and meditation, shamanic practices with 30-year teaching veteran Sandra Ingerman, and other powerful topics.

And not wasting a moment of peacebuilding, TODAY (Friday) begins the 11 Days of Global Unity Summit! September 11-21st. Join us at 9:00am Pacific for Deepak Chopra’s illuminating keynote about the power of group meditation and shifting the collective consciousness!

Then, tomorrow, Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim of the 13 Indigenous Grandmother’s Council and Carole Hart of The Laughing Willow Company will converse about humanity’s interdependence with Mother Earth — and how actions that promote unity contribute to Her protection and care.

Click here to see session descriptions and speaker bios.

Additionally, as part of The Shift Network’s commitment to peace, we have also created the first virtual World Peace Library. The 2015 Summer of Peace programs will eventually become part of this FREE global resource, so please check back here after this year’s event to access this invaluable resource.

Join us in celebrating peace – from the inner to international levels!

Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding

Jane Fonda (Grace) stars in this spiritual comedy, Peace, Love, and Misunderstanding. I loved everything about this movie, many things I could relate to or connected with. I have a hippie spirit that I’ve never lost. Love and Peace is more than just a saying from the 60’s.

The movie is about an uptight NYC lawyer that takes her two teenagers to her hippie mother’s farmhouse upstate for a family vacation. What was meant to be a weekend getaway quickly turns into a summer adventure of romance, music, family secrets and self-discovery.

The first quote went through me like an ‘aha’ moment! The word that hit me the most was accept. This line could have been written for me. It seems I am evolving, growing, changing constantly, transforming yet not clear where I am going, and things don’t always go the way I plan no matter how much passion I have or desire.

See sometimes, sometimes in art like in life you have to accept the fact that your things aren’t, aren’t going right and you don’t quite know where you are going and you have to, have to accept that because that’s when transformation can happen.

Diane: There’s a naked man sitting next to my daughter eating cereal.

Zoe: It’s okay, it’s organic.

Diane: You want me to just let go of 40 years of irresponsibility, embarrassment, and her total refusal to grow up?

Jude: Yes, exactly.

Diane: [incredulous] Like a balloon that’ll just float away.

Jude: It’s not a balloon, Diane. It’s a sandbag you’ve got to drop for the balloon to get off the ground.

Peace, Love, and Harmony

Thoughts and actions ripple through out the universe like a pebble in water. When I was first attuned to Reiki, I had a vision of a pebble being dropped into water and saw ripple after ripple. This is before I ever heard of thoughts spreading out to the universe. I had no idea what it meant at the time.
